The Success of our Snow Guns

(A) A wide Range of Snow Guns
Due to the warming climatic conditions and also the increased electricity costs, the predecessor of TechnoAlpin developed their first fan gun. The machine was mainly designed for restoration of sections of a ski run.
It was immediately recognized that only a relative light and stationary gun could be placed on steep sections of the ski run. Furthermore, there seemed only to be a future for fully automatic machines due to the labor intensive manual snowmaking process.
During the summer of 1993 the first fully automatic high pressure system with Ratnik guns was built.
Following that the development of the automatic low pressure snow-making systems with Lances and weather stations was started.

(B) Regulation of the Snow Gun
The TechnoAlpin technicians have lived through and helped to influence the history of snow gun manufacturing from the very beginning.
The customers didn't want to settle for the icy slopes that man-made snow can create. There was a demand for artificial snow which could be skied just as well as natural snow and which could handle a large number of skiers. Still two important conditions had to be fulfilled;

1. The snow guns have to produce snow efficiently and be usable at extreme warm condition.
2. The quality of the snow must always be the same across the whole ski run.

From the beginning the goal was to achieve optimum regulation of the water flow in the snow gun corresponding to the actual WB curve. In order to control this process we utilize water pressure, water temperature, WB and a predetermined snow quality scale in our controller.

The snow-making devices from TechnoAlpin are well-known for their optimal tuning. This is achieved through the multiple connection of water nozzles.

M18 13 grades
M12 10 grades
L9/L6 4 grades, A9/A6 4 grades

The snow quality can be selected in 9 different steps for all the snowguns (1=dry, 9=wet)

(C)Interchangeable Components
The family of snow guns are all built on the same “platform”, much like the principle the automobile industry uses. This enables common components to be used to a very high degree which reduces the number of spare parts needed and the time it takes for the end user to service the guns.

(D) Snow Guns
Due to the vast experience in production of snow guns, TechnoAlpin is today offering 12 different models in US and Canada.

1. M20 (automatic)
2. M20 AT (on tower)
3. M18 (automatic)
4. M18 AT (on tower)
5. M18 AA (on arm)
6. M18/3 (manual)
10. M12 AT (on tower)
11. M12 AA (on arm)
12. A9V/ A6V (manual or auto)
13. L9V / L6V (manual or auto)

These machines are a cut above the rest due to their extreme robustness and efficiency.
A special filter with a stainless steel 250 micro screen prevents debris to reach the water nozzles.
All components that come into direct contact with water have been made of stainless steel to protect against corrosion. The 360 deg. rotating central water connection is also made of stainless steel.
