The cost of water,
energy and manpower increases every year worldwide. In Europe, ninety percent
of all ski resorts have turned to fully automated systems to control those costs.
By contrast, less then twenty percent of North American ski resorts are utilizing
fully automated snowmaking equipment. Here are some resorts in North America that
have chosen to implement TechnoAlpin technology to date: The Canyons in Utah,
Breckenridge, Echo Mountain and Aspen in Colorado, Tamarack in Idaho, The Yellowstone
Club, Spanish Peaks, Moonlight Basin in Montana, Sugarbowl in California, Washusett
in Massachusetts, Fernie and Whistler in BC, as well as Alpine Ski Club in Ontario.
These resorts are fast realizing the benefits of more efficient use of their resources.
Another bonus is less noise pollution and increased snow quality. Click references
for a list of TechnoAlpin believers and comments of those who "dared to compare"
in North America.
TechnoAlpin doesn't
automate your manual snow guns. Inefficient manual guns are traded in for truly
automated snow machines, not a compromised version. Our snow guns are designed
and built from the ground up as automated machines. Our customer care and attention
to details is why TechnoAlpin automated snow guns operate so well.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
What makes TechnoAlpin
unique is our design philosophy. We provide a solution to seamlessly integrate
one or all of the following snowmaking components: fan gun technology, air/water
technology, weather information systems, pumping systems, water cooling, compressor
systems and energy management. We incorporate the same basic building blocks worldwide
to create an application for each resort. Service and maintenance are handled
by TechnoAlpin specialists who are experts on each component of the system and
can quickly and efficiently assist you with any tangible problem.
Other snowmaking
companies have a disjointed solution approach. If multiple companies are brought
in to supply a variety of components with the hopes of finding one solution, support
becomes a problem and the variety of parts don't often work well as a whole. TechnoAlpin
offers ski resorts a complete solution, covering all areas of snowmaking, with
the knowledge and experience to back it up. This is how TechnoAlpin can offer
double the warranty of other suppliers.
Automate on top
of an existing manual infrastructure.
No problem, the
TechnoAlpin automatic snowguns are self contained meaning that the automation
"moves" with the guns and are not relying on a computerized infrastructure
designed entirely for integration of automatic snow guns. Existing water hydrants
can be outfitted with automatic activators which are operated by the individual
snow gun. The snow guns can communicate via RF to a computer located in the pump
house for central operation. The existing pump house or compressors can also be
connected to this system via RF or wire.
PATENTED WATER
NOZZLE/WEATHER SENSORS
Another unique
aspect of TechnoAlpin is the patents we hold on our water nozzles and nucleators.
These nozzles have high grade ceramic inserts with a life of at least 10,000 hours
without compromised efficiency which insures the finest quality machine-made snow
in the industry, even at extremely warm temperatures. For the skier, this means
a noticeably lighter snow. A ski resort using 100 automatic TechnoAlpin snow guns
will run efficiently with three (3) snowmakers on staff. At ski resorts with one
hundred manual snow guns you will need a minimum of twenty (20) snowmakers on
staff, using snowmobiles and snow cats to move throughout the resort, adjusting
guns to changing weather conditions.
A good example
of TechnoAlpin's efficient ease of operation is at The Yellowstone Club in Montana.
The Yellowstone Club has hundred and twenty five TechnoAlpin automatic valve stations
and a fleet of automatic fan guns and only four(4) people on staff identified
as snowmakers.
EXPERIENCE
THE DIFFERENCE
Currently, TechnoAlpin
brings resort managers to Italy to experience the difference in artificial snow
quality. European ski resorts are most often inter-connected which allows skiers
to experience the differences in snowmaking and the snow it creates at each resort.
It's possible to judge snow quality firsthand when you can feel the variation
in machine-made snow, made under the same conditions. It is a "see it and
feel it to believe it" experience.
With water supply
and operating costs a major issue for ski resorts, the benefits of fully automated
snowmaking equipment far outweighs that of manual equipment. The person who manually
sets up a snow gun cannot foresee wind conditions and temperature fluctuations.
Wind can pick up at a moment's notice, sending machine-made snow into trees or
over a ridge, rather than onto a ski run. On frigid nights, even experienced snowmakers
have a hard time keeping track of the rapid changes. On a ski resort with abundant
terrain and a lot of manual snow guns, it is often impossible to keep up with
changing weather conditions.
TechnoAlpin's
automated snow guns adjust instantly to changing wind and temperature conditions.
These state of the art systems also regulate water consumption to consistently
blow light snow that sticks. Manual guns often cover the ski runs with a hard
and icy base that makes skiing more difficult and the transition from machine
made snow to natural snow extremely noticeable.
Using TechnoAlpin
snowmaking equipment allows one operator, from anywhere in the world, to monitor
each automated snow gun via computer links. This state of the art technology,
along with lighter, higher quality machine-made snow, is what makes TechnoAlpin
the world leader in snowmaking.
